Sometimes we have to work at feeling thankful
We know it has been one hell of a year. They all are. Wars are being waged all over the planet, unemployment is still too high, bombings are killing people doing no more than sitting in the sun, and security keeps getting tighter because individuals think that a bullet or a bomb is the reasonable first answer to pain.
Every day we read of more problems, more difficulties, and more horrors. Could there still be something to be thankful for?
Indeed there are; this planet has so many things for which we can be thankful as the Thanksgiving holiday unfolds. Here are just a few of mine.
I am thankful for:
- My family
- Communicating with you
- My friends. Friends I have known for decades, and newer friends I have recently made, are the people who make life warm, full and comfortable
- This great big, gorgeous messy world. I’m grateful there are unique nations, and diverse populations. I relish the thought of knowing as much of it, and its people, as I can
I am grateful for a number of things; far more than the four listed above but those are some of the big ones. Today I am grateful that I am able to share this list with you. Thanksgiving is not for one simple day, thanksgiving is worth doing all year long.
